IAA: South Bend is the Local Advisory Council of the Indiana Apartment Association that serves the greater South Bend Indiana area.

The purpose of IAA: South Bend is to promote, advise, and protect the general interest of the construction, ownership, and management of multi-family housing by engaging and uniting industry members through informative and engaging educational and networking events.

The Indiana Apartment Association is a statewide trade organization serving the multifamily industry in the State of Indiana.

IAA Mission Statement

  1. To promote, advise and protect the general interests of the ownership and management of multi-family housing in the Indiana area by uniting those engaged in the business.
  2. To uphold the dignity of the property management profession and to acquire and disseminate useful business information among its members, to foster a spirit of cooperation among its members; to cultivate higher standards of practice and business ethics.

Local Advisory Council

The Local Advisory Council is a critical component of IAA’s strategic plan. This council actively plans and executes local engagement strategies including educational and networking events, member recruitment and retention, and local advocacy efforts. Front Line Leasing with Lisa Trosien

This fun and interactive class is for the beginning leasing professional or a veteran who would like to brush up on his or her basic skills. Attendees will learn:

  • Lead management: How and when to respond for the greatest results
  • Needs exploration: How to know exactly what is important to the customer, as well as the art of selling the neighborhood
  • Demonstrating: Showing apartments in their best way possible
  • Resolving objections: Learn the difference between a deflection and objection, as well as three proven ways to work through objections
  • Closing: Find out when closing begins, and why closing is a process and NOT an event!
  • Follow up: Learn some great techniques to keep in touch with prospects.

This class is highly interactive and will set up attendees for success as a new leasing professional!

Appliances 101

This course reviews basics of all appliance repairs.  Refrigerator, electric stove, and dishwasher repair are the main aspects to be discussed. This class will review parts, questions to ask residents to accurately assess the situation, what to do if the appliance is under warranty, and solutions to solve most common problems. This class is suited for entry to mid-level technicians.
