September Power Lunch with John Wagner

Inject Humor – Professionally & Personally

John will share, in his humorous and fun style, that injecting humor more than ever helps us to avoid burnout and reduce stress, as well as allowing us to have a more positive attitude toward our daily dilemmas in life and to improve our health and happiness.

About John Wagner:

In addition to his speaking career, John “Wags” Wagner kept a real job for many years as a counselor, faculty member, and was Dean of Students at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. Power Lunch Sponsorship

Have you attended one of IAA’s Power Lunches yet? One great way to introduce yourself and your company is to not only attend a Power Lunch, but sponsor the event for optimal exposure!

There are 3 different Power Lunches each year, and these events give Supplier Members a chance to showcase products or services in a relaxed, informal social gathering. The majority of attendees at these events are members you might do business with currently, or would like to do business with in the future. Either way, you build relationships with those in the multifamily industry and show your support by sponsoring the event. The “Members Buy From Members” program supports our philosophy there is strength in numbers, and many of our Direct members understand the value of utilizing our Suppliers for their business needs.

  • Networking with IAA Board of Directors at the VIP Table
  • Chance to speak in front of 130+ industry members and introduce your product/service
  • Your company logo will be used on all promotional flyers and email blasts – all eblasts will include a live link to your website

Bowling for Rebuilding Lives

Rebuilding Lives was founded in 2009, after a year of severe weather throughout Indiana brought devastation to our management companies, our apartment communities and our residents. The Indiana Apartment Association decided to focus a part of its philanthropic efforts on raising funds to assist our industry in times of need.

Over the last ten years Rebuilding Lives has provided assistance to over 600 units affected by natural disasters. In 2019 alone, IAA’s Rebuilding Lives was able to help more than 65 individuals and 20 families.

The theme for this year’s event will be announced later this year! Prizes will be given for: Best decorated lane, individual highest and lowest series!

If you aren’t able to participate, we would appreciate any assistance you may still be able to give to Rebuilding Lives. Click here to make a donation.

Maintenance Mania is a national competition where apartment industry maintenance technicians and supervisors are able to compete against each other in various skill-based games focused on frequent maintenance issues.  Maintenance professionals will race against the clock to see who is the fastest at water heater installation, icemaker installation, fire and carbon monoxide safety installation, key control deadbolt testing, heating element installation, shock treatment setup, and air conditioner repair. The finale of the event concludes with a race car competition, where competitors build a model car using at least one maintenance product or part and race it down a pinewood derby-style tract.  This year’s competitors have the opportunity to test their maintenance skills and knowledge of the industry as they compete to ear the title of Maintenance Mania National Champion!

The eight challenges to prove your maintenance skills during the Maintenance Mania competition include:

  • AO Smith Water Heater Installation
  • Fridgidaire Icemaker Installation
  • Kidde Fire & Carbon Monoxide Safety Installation
  • Kwikset Key Control Deadbolt Test
  • SmartBurner Heating Element Installation
  • Smart Comfort Air Conditioner Repair
  • Queenaire Shock Treatment Setup
  • Race Car Competition

The PAC Golf Classic is a fundraising event hosted by the Indiana Apartment Association to benefit the Indiana Multifamily Housing Political Action Committee (IMFHPAC). The IMFHPAC is the apartment industry’s Political Action Committee (PAC). The PAC is used to support candidates for local and state offices who demonstrate a pro business approach to government and are considered supportive of particular apartment industry positions. The IMFHPAC strengthens the apartment industry’s overall legislative effectiveness. These efforts have helped members save thousands of dollars by defeating unnecessary industry regulations. IAA continues to be the ONLY organization lobbying on behalf of the apartment industry. Supporting the PAC is a way for all companies to keep the lobbying efforts of IAA strong. Even for non-golfers, there are sponsorship opportunities available. For further information contact 317-816-8900. All proceeds benefit the IMFHPAC.
