Bowling for Rebuilding Lives

Rebuilding Lives was founded in 2009, after a year of severe weather throughout Indiana brought devastation to our management companies, our apartment communities and our residents. The Indiana Apartment Association decided to focus a part of its philanthropic efforts on raising funds to assist our industry in times of need.

Over the last ten years Rebuilding Lives has provided assistance to over 525 units affected by natural disasters. In 2018 alone, IAA’s Rebuilding Lives was able to help more than 60 individuals and 40 families.

Thank you to everyone who made the 2019 event a success. The theme was “I <3 Rebuilding Lives!” Prizes were given for: Best decorated lane, individual highest and lowest series!

If you weren’t able to participate, we would appreciate any assistance you may still be able to give to Rebuilding Lives. Click here to make a donation.

Maintenance Mania is a national competition where apartment industry maintenance technicians and supervisors are able to compete against each other in various skill-based games focused on frequent maintenance issues.  Maintenance professionals will race against the clock to see who is the fastest at water heater installation, toilet conversion, icemaker installation, fire and carbon monoxide safety installation, key control deadbolt testing, heating element installation, and air conditioner repair. The finale of the event concludes with a race car competition, where competitors build a model car using at least one maintenance product or part and race it down a pinewood derby-style tract.  This year’s competitors have the opportunity to test their maintenance skills and knowledge of the industry as they compete to ear the title of Maintenance Mania National Champion!

Maintenance Mania attendees have the chance to win over $1,200 in cash prizes!  In each game, the first place winner receives $75, second place receives $50, and third place receives $25.  The overall first place winner receives $300, overall second place $200, and overall third place $100.

The eight challenges to prove your maintenance skills during the Maintenance Mania competition include:

  • AO Smith Water Heater Installation
  • Fluidmaster Duo Flush Toilet Conversion
  • Fridgidaire Icemaker Installation
  • Kidde Fire & Carbon Monoxide Safety Installation
  • Kwikset Key Control Deadbolt Test
  • SmartBurner Heating Element Installation – NEW GAME IN 2019!
  • Smart Comfort Air Conditioner Repair
  • Race Car Competition

NOTE: New wheels in 2019 must be used by all competitors! For 2019, approved competition wheels provided by IAA are the yellow wheels (two large and two small). Cars using incorrect wheels, including black wheels provided in previous years, do not meet the check in requirements as outlined in the rulebook and will not be eligible for competition.  All cars must have yellow wheels and meet all other requirements outlined in the Maintenance Mania Participant Rulebook in order to qualify for competition.

Join us for a full day of fun!

Maintenance professionals are the unsung heroes of the multifamily industry and we want to dedicate a whole day of fun to you.  The day will start with two great education seminars, followed by lunch and a trade show full of maintenance vendors.  You will also get the opportunity to socialize and network with not only the vendors, but other maintenance professionals as well.  There will also be an hour of open practice for you to try out all of the games before the competition begins.  After open practice, the Maintenance Mania competition will begin!  The day will conclude with an awards ceremony where not only competition winners will be recognized, but winners of the Maintenance Appreciation Awards will be announced as well.  See below for more information on the Appreciation Awards or make a nomination!  During this ceremony, door prizes will also be handed out to attendees.

The PAC Golf Classic is a fundraising event hosted by the Indiana Apartment Association to benefit the Indiana Multifamily Housing Political Action Committee (IMFHPAC). The IMFHPAC is the apartment industry’s Political Action Committee (PAC). The PAC is used to support candidates for local and state offices who demonstrate a pro business approach to government and are considered supportive of particular apartment industry positions. The IMFHPAC strengthens the apartment industry’s overall legislative effectiveness. These efforts have helped members save thousands of dollars by defeating unnecessary industry regulations. IAA continues to be the ONLY organization lobbying on behalf of the apartment industry. Supporting the PAC is a way for all companies to keep the lobbying efforts of IAA strong. Even for non-golfers, there are sponsorship opportunities available. For further information contact 317-816-8900. All proceeds benefit the IMFHPAC.

The 2019 PAC Golf Classic will be on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at the Eagle Creek Golf Course.

While the proceeds from the event benefit the National Apartment Association Political Action Committee, a portion of the money will come back to the Indiana Multi Family Housing Political Action Committee to spend on Indiana Members of Congress.

IMFHPAC is IAA’s nonpartisan political action committee that invests in candidates who are supportive of industry issues and are pro-business legislators. These funds aid in the election of candidates whose legislative voting records and/or positions on multifamily issues will enhance the business climate in Indiana. The IMFHPAC enables corporations and individuals to pool their political contributions and support candidates which help further IAA’s legislative objectives. A collective effort allows for visibility and access to candidates.
