2018 Bowling for Rebuilding Lives

Thank you to everyone who made Bowling for Rebuilding Lives on February 21 a success. Click here to see photos from the event on the IAA Facebook.

Rebuilding Lives was founded in 2009, after a year of severe weather throughout Indiana brought devastation to our management companies, our apartment communities and our residents. The Indiana Apartment Association decided to focus a part of its philanthropic efforts on raising funds to assist our industry in times of need. Our mission statement is as follows:

Rebuilding Lives supports members of the Indiana Apartment Association throughout the state of Indiana by providing assistance to residents who have been affected by natural disasters.

A portion of the 2018 proceeds are being donated to the Ronald McDonald House to help those families who are rebuilding their lives as they battle a childhood illness.

Save the date for February 2019 for the next Bowling for Rebuilding Lives fundraiser!

The PAC Golf Classic is a fundraising event hosted by the Indiana Apartment Association to benefit the Indiana Multifamily Housing Political Action Committee (IMFHPAC). The IMFHPAC is the apartment industry’s Political Action Committee (PAC). The PAC is used to support candidates for local and state offices who demonstrate a pro business approach to government and are considered supportive of particular apartment industry positions. The IMFHPAC strengthens the apartment industry’s overall legislative effectiveness. These efforts have helped members save thousands of dollars by defeating unnecessary industry regulations. IAA continues to be the ONLY organization lobbying on behalf of the apartment industry. Supporting the PAC is a way for all companies to keep the lobbying efforts of IAA strong. Even for non-golfers, there are sponsorship opportunities available. For further information contact 317-816-8900. All Proceeds benefit the IMFHPAC.

2018 Reverse Trade Show

Thursday, May 3, 2018

4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Indianapolis Marriott North (3645 River Crossing Pkwy., Indianapolis, IN 46240)

IAA will host the Annual Reverse Trade Show on May 3, 2018. This event raises money for the National Apartment Association Political Action Committee. This fundraiser is a highly effective business networking event that allows you the opportunity to meet one on one with owners and decision makers from property management companies. Vendors have the opportunity to have immediate contact with buyers on both the management and development/construction aspect of management companies representing more than 100,000 units across the state.

While the proceeds from the event benefit the National Apartment Association Political Action Committee, a portion of the money will come back to the Indiana Multi Family Housing Political Action Committee to spend on Indiana Members of Congress.

IMFHPAC is IAA’s nonpartisan political action committee that invests in candidates who are supportive of industry issues and are pro-business legislators. These funds aid in the election of candidates whose legislative voting records and/or positions on multifamily issues will enhance the business climate in Indiana. The IMFHPAC enables corporations and individuals to pool their political contributions and support candidates which help further IAA’s legislative objectives. A collective effort allows for visibility and access to candidates.

The 2018 Reverse Trade Show will take place on May 3rd at the Indianapolis Marriott North (3645 River Crossing Pkwy., Indianapolis, IN 46240). A current list of management companies attending, details on the event, and registration information coming soon.

2018 Power Lunch Schedule

The Power Lunch is both a networking opportunity and a refreshing chance to learn from accomplished leaders as IAA brings speakers throughout the year to help motivate you and your staff.

David Rendall: The Freak Factor: Discovering Uniqueness by Flaunting Weakness

What’s your problem? I’m serious. What do you wish you could change about yourself? What is the complaint that you hear the most from those closest to you, your friends, co-workers, and family members? Are you too loud or too quiet, too hyperactive or too sedentary, too organized or too messy? You get the idea.

So, what should you do? Most people think that they should find and fix their weaknesses. Unfortunately, this just leads to frustration and failure. Your weaknesses are actually the best clue to your strengths. Furthermore, building your strengths, not fixing your weaknesses, is your best strategy for success.

This presentation will encourage you to become more of who you are, not to turn you into someone else. It’s about becoming more different and more unique, not more average and more mediocre. You will learn how to:

  • Discover your distinctive strengths and weaknesses
  • Frame your unique characteristics in a positive way
  • Find situations that highlight your positive qualities
  • Maximize your self-control
  • Implement permanent procrastination

About David:

During the last fifteen years, David Rendall has spoken to audiences on every inhabited continent. His clients include the US Air Force, Australian Government, and Fortune 500 companies such as Microsoft, AT&T, United Health Group, Fannie Mae, and State Farm. Prior to becoming a speaker, he was a leadership professor and stand-up comedian. He also managed nonprofit enterprises that provided employment for people with disabilities. In between presentations, David competes in ultramarathons and Ironman triathlons. David has a doctor of management degree in organizational leadership, as well as a graduate degree in psychology. He is the author of three books.

SAL was named after Sally Lentz-Crouse who was a leader in the multifamily housing industry and a pioneer in the real estate industry.
